Boutique Tours Mexico (BTM) · Playa del Carmen
Your own guide picks you up early, rides Coba with you before the crowds, then takes you swimming in two cave cenotes near the ruins and to lunch at a Maya family home. It's the shortest full Coba day here, and every fee is already paid.

Boutique Tours Mexico runs this as a private trip, for your group alone, up to 15 people. The plan is simple and well timed: leave early, arrive at Coba near opening time, and spend about two hours there with your guide on bikes or in a tricycle taxi, both covered. Several guests say they were among the first in the site and had parts of it to themselves.
From Coba it's a short drive to two cave cenotes in the jungle a few kilometres away. Multun-Ha is a deep cavern reached by a long wooden staircase; Tankach-Ha has jumping platforms over the water. The listing gives about 40 minutes at each, and the timing often puts you there before the groups. Lunch is at a Maya family's home in the area, with slow-roasted chicken and handmade tortillas, and kids are usually invited to make one.
The price looks high at $245 per person for two, but it drops per head as your group grows, and it covers lunch, drinks, both cenotes and every ticket at Coba. The extras are only the toll road fee, $30 per booking from Playa del Carmen or $50 from Cancun. Guests leaving Playa at 9 a.m. report being back by about 3:30.
Your guide collects you in Playa del Carmen (or Tulum or Cancun, with the toll fee).
History and Maya culture on the way; your guide buys the tickets while you use the restrooms.
Bikes or a tricycle taxi along the white paths, the ball courts, and Nohoch Mul if you want to climb.
Down the stairs into a deep cave pool. Guests mention snorkel gear and a light from their guide.
A second cavern with platforms for jumping, often quiet at this hour.
A home-cooked meal in the village, then the drive back.
★★★★★Afterwards, we visited two cenotes, Multun-Ha and Tankach-Ha. Because of the well-planned timing of our arrivals, we were the only ones there at both (a group arrived at Tankach-Ha just before we were leaving).
★★★★★The beautiful thing about this was that everything was included in the tour from the knowledgeable guides in Coba to the Cenotes and the lunch. If the price of the tour gives you pause, don’t let it. [...] The kids especially loved making one of their own tortillas.
★★★★★The tour was early enough that we were among the first people at the Coba ruins, we essentially had the cenote to ourselves, and the Mayan lunch portion was our absolute favorite memory of our whole trip.
★★★★★Please be prepared to bring extra water, you will be burning a ton of calories on this tour! [...] From the entrance of Coba to the farthest temple, is close to a mile.
